Matt Nasir

Matt is a renowned multi-instrumentalist, song-writer, composer, arranger and session musician. Over the last 12 years, Matt has written for Film & Television productions as well as co-writing with long-term touring partner Frank Turner as a lead member of Frank's backing band, the Sleeping Souls. Matt specialises in bespoke compositions, film & TV scores, writing collaborations and has also been the main string and horn arranger for Frank Turner, per above.

Along with The Sleeping Souls, he has been involved in arranging songs on his last seven albums, three of which have achieved ‘Gold’ status and been top 3 in the UK album charts. Aside from bigger arranging projects, Matt also creates bespoke arrangements for string quartets, corporate events, private ceremonies, emerging artists and the like.

Matt is a seasoned live performer on Keyboards, Guitar, Bass, Mandolin & Mandola, averaging over 150 gigs a year for the last decade whilst touring the world several times, Matt has supported many acts including; Foo Fighters (Quebec City), Green Day (Wembley Stadium, Old Trafford) performing to crowds of 80,000+ including the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony in London. He has played at most major festivals around the world: Glastonbury, Bonaroo, Pinkpop, Hurricane, Southside, Coachella, Benacassim, Byron Bay Blues Festival, Lollpalooza, Latitude, Cambridge Folk Festival, Cropredy, Austin City Limits, Lowlands, Sziget, Osheaga, Governor’s Ball, Rock Am Ring, South By Southwest to name a but a few.

Matt is a regular contributor to sessions for NEM, both attended at our Wildwood Music Studio and working remotely from his own studio, producing outstanding session work for us. He is our resident expert on all things; getting signed, being signed and staying signed, recording multiple commercial albums and navigating pre/recording/post-production (having made multiple recordings in; Abbey Road, RAK, East West, Metropolis, Miloco, The Church, Livingston and Wildwood Studios among others) and the mechanics of successful fully distributed album launches, live playing and touring, publishing, library, sync, writing partnership, rights divisions, creating revenue streams as an artist and the like.
