Sam started playing music from an early age, completing all 8 Associated Board piano grades within his teens. At Oxford University, he played regularly in bands, at the union and college balls, before moving to Jakarta, Indonesia for 2 years, where he also gigged and played extensively. Throughout his life Sam has continued to play and perform and sees particular interest in encouraging music playing for children and social situations.

Sam is one of our session pianists and also forms part of our Business core (with Oliver Hall) as a senior investment banker with extensive experience of M&A/equity/debt transactions, from $15m - $15bn. After graduating from Magdellen College, Oxford with a first-class degree in Modern Languages, Sam started his career at J P Morgan Cazenove before moving on to Rothschild & Co. where he has been for the last 10 years, becoming Managing Director in July 2018.

Sam has a broad skill-set including financial analysis, commercial negotiations, strategy, relationship building, communications, stakeholder management and project leadership, where Sam prides himself on his integrity. He is very much a local Founder Member, having been brought up in and around the Guildford area where he now lives.
